Geek World Living Dot Com
A guide to the geeky things in life. No gold spraypaint, ribbons, or prison terms required. It's a good thing.
For example, people who are fascinated with space travel, science, nature, photography, computers, electronics; all these things; all the time are probably geeks. People who, despite being introverted and shy manage to bedazzle others with long, unfettered discussions in great detail about small points of interest probably have heavy leanings.
Lastly, there is one more characteristic...we have little physical prowess. As an example, please don't ask us to dance; at least not the fast-on-the-floor-looking-cool kind of dancing. We can do the put-hands-on-other-person-and-walk-in-tiny-circles-kind, mostly. Dancing really is very painful for us. Trying to dance feels like trying to solve the most difficult math or physics problem ever, which might be fun except that in this case we never succeed. Trying to keep track of which limb is moving at what angles and how fast and what degree our head is tilted at relative to the angles of ourshoulders, hips and legs is just the beginning. So remember, it's not that we don't love you, think about you, or don't want to dance with you, but we just can't.
For all of you geeks who skipped ahead, this site really started out to be a repository for me to keep track of files, photos, how-tos, faqs, instructions, etc. But after culling so much similar useful information from other people's sites, I wanted to be able to give something back, in the spirit of good net-citizenry. The site is divided into four major categories: Natural World for anything you might find in the universe that would exist whether we did or not; Technology, the opposite of the former; Daily life, my and my spouse's personal blogs; and Contact information, just in case, god only knows why, you might want to get in touch.
Have at it and have fun.
