So, hopefully you either already understand the complexities of geek culture or have read up on it. Cataloging the range and variety of geek interests is difficult at best. And since this site is my site, naturally it reflects my geeky nature.
At the heart of my geeky nature is technology. Gadgets and gizmos and bits and bytes to make it all go have always intrigued me. So computers and information technology are here with little explanation needed. Photography too is here for similar reasons. It started with in interest in the technology but progressed into an interest in the art itself. What is covered here, however is mostly related to the technological aspects.
Of course, virtually everything I find interesting I have found through or in the world of books. In that vain, I have begun collecting and cataloging all the little books along the way that changed my perspectives in the world. The beginning of this catalog is what'll you'll find here.
The last categories, cats and gardening, hold an equal share in what makes me a geek in so far as they both create strong feelings of connectedness to life and the earth in a way that people generally do not; there are exceptions and you know who you are. :) That too, seems a strong geek trait. These last two categories are the least developed, but in my tiny brain are a part of the hierarchy. I will work it out as I go.
